RS Clare
Alder Hey
Golf trip

Richard Lambert, director-general of CBI, gave formal address to CBI dinner at Crowne Plaza. Told us it was the best job he'd ever had.
Eh?
The guy used to be editor of the Financial Times. How can head of the CBI beat running your own national/international newspaper? I suppose he has to say the politically-right thing.
I was sat with Ian Meadows of RS Clare, Merseyside's oldest firm. He was a delight, full of good humour and great ideas. So nice when someone is genuinely interested in the Echo and how it operates. He also shares my inability to open a bottle of wine and not finish it,
Also chatted with Ajmail Dusanj from Cains Brewery. I've thought for a while that their lager seemd to be getting stronger and stronger as a brand and sure enoguh, sales are soaring.
Came to dinner on back of a problem at the office. Alder Hey hospital unhappy with our coverage of their £50m cash shortfall for redevelopment.
Issue seems quite complex and I can't yet work out what was innacurate in our story. Will speak to them again today.
Few short hours then off for week's golf in Portugal with my pals. So much happening at work - liverpoolecho.co.uk launched, liverpool.com launching, Echo brand development plan in full swing - time to buy a Blackberry.
Looks like I won't be back in time for Harry's last night at the Playhouse. Sad about that. I'm teally proud of him.
