Digital pace, chitty chitty Murrayfield
The pace of digital development at the Echo is increasing by the day.
Our on-line audience is growing surely and dramatically and we are working overtime to keep pace with their demands and expectations.
Yesterday we spent two and a half hours in a meeting looking at ways of effectively redesigning Liverpoolecho.co.uk. The ideas flowed thick and fast and that creates its own problem. There is almost no limit to the amount of material in breadth or volume that the website can acommodate.
Therefore every good idea is worth pursuing becuase there is space to develop it. However, the time available in a working day makes it impossible to develop each one. Thre lies the challenge and the skill. What do we go for? How far do we push it?
We know about newspapers. We have learned and learned well over 150 or so years. But this is new. Exciting, stimulating, but uncharted. This is a time for calculated risks and bravery. I think you can afford to make mistakes as long as you make them quickly.
I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me. What is your favourite site? It doesn't have to be a news provider, just tell me which sites float your boat.
Mine?

Tell me what you think - and send me links to the ones you admire most. I'd really appreciate it.
Morgan went with Lynne and her grandmother to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Empire Theatre. She was wowed by the flying car - a real theatrical miracle.

With Lynne for consultant appointment at hospital last night. Brain scan on Tuesday.
11 days without a drink. Could have done with one last night.
