Kelvin MAckenzie''s remarks
Learnt last night that our sister paper The Daily Post, had been told that ex-Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie had had another go at Liverpool fans regarding the Hillsborough tragedy.
Unbelievable.
Remember, The Sun, when he was at the helm, said Reds fans urinated on the corpses of dead fans, robbed their wallets, and were to blame for the crush in the first place.
Back then he was forced to issue a grovelling apology on behalf of the Sun as they desperately tried to shore up circualtion following a furious boycott in Liverpool.
Go forward to this year: The bloke gives an interview in October saying that he thought it was true when he went to press but realised later it wasn't.
Then at some business bash yesterday, when he thinks no one's reporting, he says he still believed what they wrote and that Reds fans DID cause the tragedy.
How two-faced, how insensitive can any one person get?
He re-opens the wounds without a thought for the people the hurt. This guy thinks a smart remark at some lunch full of suits is more important than human compassion - regardless of what he thinks is right or wrong.
And he IS wrong. The Echo investigation proved it, and so did the investigation by Lord Justice Taylor.
Obviously on the phone all night about this last night.
Eventually collapsed into bed only for Morgan to decide it was a musical beds night and that sleep wasn't on the agenda.
Knackered now. Called off golf tomorrow to spend some family time as working all day Sunday.

Well said, and an excellent podcast on the website today. The Echo at its best.
