Heads of Dept dinner

Out for lunch with my heads of department late yesterday afternoon. Went to The Living Room in Victoria Street and hugely impressed as always by the standard of service.

They clearly invest heavily in staff training and development because their team demonstate that pperfect balance of friendliness, courtesy and efficiency that is so lacking at many places in the city.

The food was great too and a huge thanks to Carolyn Hughes of Carolyn Hughes PR for helping me organise a lovely evening.

There are two doors that you stand in front of at every such evening. One says 'Go on - have a few more drinks' The other says: 'You need to be up at 5.00am for work and you promised Lynne you wouldn't drink too much.'

Aided (surprisingly) by Echo sports editor John Thompson, I took the sensible door.

Please can I say a huge thank you to everyone who has read this blog this year? And wish every one of you a merry Christmas?
