March 27 2007 Woolmer Lynne Rot

Stop the Rot, cricket death, Lynne

Proud of the Echo yesterday as I watched a presentation by developers on plans to transform the near-derelict Tobacco Warehouse at Stanley Dopck into a fantastic apartment complex.

The scheme creates something new and exciting while preserving and building upon the great architecture of the city's past.

Another triumph for the Echo's Stop the Rot Forum chaired by the BIshop of Liverpool. Several preoperties still on the list but much has been achieved. Well done to all at the forum and in particular to the Echo's Catherine Jones for her patient and painstaking stewardship.

The Bob Woolmer story is truly amazing - the biggest public-figure murder since Jill Dando, I guess?

I watched Woolmer bat for England when I was a boy going to Test matches with my dad. I admired his effortless style.

This story has several twists in its tail. Of that I'm certain.

Lynne not improving at all. And getting depressed because she isn't. Really need to see some progress now - anything.

Small consolation - my chafing has eased slightly. If you're interested.
