Peel, half marathon training, Much ado, dressing-up day

Really excited about the Peel Holdings plan for the Central Docks area. £5.5bn scheme from a company that has a track record of pulling off and sustaining major developments (Trafford Centre, John Lennon Airport).
Slightly concerned about the announcement from Government that they will seek to restrict or block high-rise developments on World Heritage Sites (Liverpool's waterfront being one of them).

I'm all for protecting our heritage, but I'm against under-utilising it too. The world moves on and so does architecture. High-rise on the waterfront will be fine as long as it is high-quality high-rise and sensibly located.

Half marathon only three weeks (less!) away. Did 10 miles on Sunday morning into a stiff wind. Column Hill in West Kirby was torture and I thought I was going to have to walk. Dug deep and got through it. Starting though, to get very nervous. Everyone says Parliament St in Liverpool (which comes after about 8 or nine miles) is a killer - uphill past the Cain's Brewery. Starting to let self-doubt creep in. Knee a bit stiff today and gym session tonight.

Harry was succesful in audition for small part in professional production of Much Ado About Nothing at the Playhouse in the Spring. Good news but anxious his school work doesn't suffer.

National Book Day marked at Morgan's School when they asked the kids to go in dressed as a character from their favourite book. Morgan chose scarecrow Tattiebogle. Pic below.

Don't panic about pain while scaling Column Hill chief. I found that torture when I was still fit and healthy, aged about 11!
