Back blogging; Wheelchair; Denmark
Delighted to be back in the blogosphere after a few weeks break. Simply weighed down by a combination of work and home pressures as Lynne's illness gathers a sickening momentum.
Bless her, she is showing no signs of remission. We see the consultant tonight and need him to tell us where we go now.
First it was a stick and now it's a wheelchair. In the space of six months.
Usual hassles on top - confusion over whether she's due any disabled living allowance or sick pay, delay in settling our insurance claim, no disabled car sticker weeks after filling in all the forms.
Wouldn't it be nice if people took stress away from sick people rather than ladled it on in great dollops?
Work is intense but tremendous fun. In Denmark last week to look at multi media newsrooms and doing the same in Holland next week. Fascinating to see how other operations set themselves up for the future and the leaps of faith they are prepared to make when it comes to long-term planning.
Fascinating too, to see how multi-media mentalities have been cultivated. We are making huge strides but if we falter for a moment we will lose momentum dramatically. And in the modern media era that could be fatal.
Morgan learning ballet. Terrifying.
