Rhys Jones murder
It is inconceivable that the police and large numbers of the community do not know who killed little Rhys Jones.
It is unfathomable that someone has not come forward with the evidence to allows the police to make a charge.
There are things badly wrong when people live in fear of doing the right thing. I cannot stomach a society living in dread of hooded yobs and drug-dealing low lives.
Am having lunch with David Cameron next week. Can he offer us an alternative? I liked his idea for voluntary work for 16-18 year olds. But perhaps it's time to look seriously at reintroducing national service. Would it help? You tell me.
I just know that a society that allows a gunman who killed an 11-year-old to go free needs sorting out.
My post on the misery of airports struck some chords.
George Skelly has liitle time for the behemoth that is Manchester Airport:
He writes: 'There are more shops selling non-essentials which are more expensive than outside shops than anything else. The actual passenger facilities come last! A few weeks ago we waited from 3am for 6 hours for our flight. In the departure lounge there was only one bar and one restaurant (or to be precise, cafe) open. In the latter there was a long queue. A small bottle of allegedly fresh orange cost over £3.00. In the bar, there was another long queue stretching out into the terminal and a waiting time of half an hour to again pay over £3.00 for a pint of lager. BAA seem to have nothing but contempt for their captive audience. The sooner more variety and competition is introduced against this monstrous monoply, the better for all passengers.'
Any comeback BAA?
Any other horror stories out there?

Sorry but Cameron's idea for 'voluntary' work for 16-18 year olds is laughable.
Dreamt up and supported by a well meaning but out of touch middle class.
Do you seriously think the hardcore gangs in Norris Green or Croxteth (or Nogzy Dogs and Crocky Crew to use the vernacular) would volunteer to take part?
I think you'll find it's only the 'good kids' taking part, if it's ever implemented. Please pass that on next week.
p.s. If you get the chance, can you also ask Warren Bradley why living in north Liverpool is like living in a different city to the leafy suburbs in the south. Absoulutely scandalous!
