oct 2 2007 maddie/golfing /bottom inspection

Strange being in Portugal after Maddie.
No one talks about it..as if there's some kind of taboo about it.
In shops, bars, restaurants, we see the posters but in social interaction the subject is never raised.
Perhaps we are ashamed at the way we have ridiculed and castigated the Portugese police.
Perhaps they are ashamed that it happened in the first place.
Perhaps suggestions of parental guilt make everyone squirm with embarrassment.
Do you have a view?

Significant reactiion to my blog on bottom inspection.
Neil McDonald suggests I was personally involved.
Not so, Neil, I can assure you that any such request would have met with a firm, polite refusal.
Andrew Edwards asks me to name names and describes it (understandably)as a 'sad episode'.
No names..in the interests of protecting the already tarnished reputations of the chaps involved.

Bob and I won 3and2 yesterday. 2 and a half to pne and a half up in series.
no golf today - thunderstorms.
