December 5 2007 100 heads banana experience

Liverpool Echo's superb exhibition space in our atrium at Old Hall street is well worth a visit.

We are hosting Anthony Brown's 100 Heads Thinking As One exhibition and all the heads are on display after a year on tour.

Whether you like the style or not there is no doubting the visual impact when the heads are aggregated like this.

One visitor to last night's launch described it as 'like the Terracotta Army'. Sure enough, they looked ready to march in a surreal wave.

My head is there. A humble head amongst so many influential ones. But Lynne and Harry liked it so it passes, therefore the sternest of critical appraisals.

Anthony's style is to make a collage of memories allowing an insight into the mind and past of the subject.

The Heads that work best are those where the subject has provided material beyond that which refers to their professional life.

Judge for yourselves.

Left the exhibition early as had to drop Harry at theatre. Lynne and I filled in the time until curtain-down having dinner at Chilli Banana, a hectic and compelling Thai restaurant in Lark Lane.

Tuesday night and it was heaving. Great flavours and glamorous waitresses. Well worth a go if Thai food is your bag,

I am attacked by Neil McDonald, who suggests that someone 'who inspects his mate's bum' should not be permitted to attend The Royal Variety Show.

It's an interesting perspective (his view, not my mate's bum).

I would like though to state once and for all, that I was NOT personally involved in the sorry bum inspection incident. It was a pal and his pal.

I am becoming a media victim.
