MArch 24 2007 run
half marathon - cold.
My cold now genuine and debilitating. Blocked nose. Cough. Sore throat seems to have gone. Sinuses sore.
Irony is, legs feel great now. Raring to go other than this damn cold.
Lynne says give it 24 hours. Will make final decision tomorrow morning. But will have to be at death's door not to at least try.
Wish me luck.

Best of luck tomorrow, Alastair. We Machrays persevere whatever the odds are! Poor Martin - bless him!
All the girls and their families treated me to Mothering Sunday Lunch - in Shepperton across the banks from Walton-on-Thames. They were very concerned how Lynne was getting on, so having read your blogs I can give them some details.
Well done to Harry, too! He's a great lad!

Hi Alistair
Thanks for your comment in my blog - a stranger has actually commented ...amazing!!
Actually, if it's you with strapping on one of your knees and a blue waterproof on running along North Parade then we've passed each other a few times exchanging nods !
You may have read in my blog that I ducked out of this years Liverpool Half 'cos I struggled to shake off a cold and my running form went right off the boil. Now hoping that my late'ish entry for the Chester Half will be accepted.
I did my one and only half at Liverpool last year after doing a few training runs of around 10 miles. I did stiffen up in the last mile and a bit but you're back in Sefton Park by then and you know you're going to do it!
Best of luck if you have a bash at it and I'll be keeping an eye on your blog !
Cheers
John
